View from Caron's Desk
Nearly twenty-seven years ago, Caron Kamps Widden moved south to begin
a new life and met and married her best friend. They've been on the move ever since
-- eleven different cities to be exact.
Along the way, Caron continued writing, attending workshops, classes and writer's groups.
She fell in love with the classics as a young adult, but also admires and continues to learn
from fellow contemporary authors. Caron writes literary fiction and blogs about her life and
adventures at http://www.mylifeonthelane.blogspot.com. She's also
published flash fiction, short-shorts, written for a hometown newspaper, was an
editorial assistant at Orange Coast Magazine, and a reader at Zoetrope: All-Story,
the literary magazine founded by Francis Ford Coppola.
Before her writing career, Caron sold paper for a major corporation (where she also
edited the division newsletter). Later, when her three children were young,
Caron ran a home-based business providing advertising copy, brochures, resumes,
editing services, menu design, custom invitations and business cards (even a
little medical transcription).
Busy at work on a new novel, Caron finds herself living in Northeast Ohio after relocating from Antwerp, Belgium and Ridgefield, Connecticut. With all new people and places to discover, in a
lovely country setting, Caron feels inspired each day for the characters whose
stories beg to be told.
