Nearly twenty-five years ago, Caron Kamps Widden moved to Atlanta to start a new life and met and married the love of her life. They've been on the move ever since -- eleven different cities to be exact.
Along the way, Caron continued writing, attending workshops, classes and joining writer's groups. Caron fell in love with the classics in college at Cal State Fullerton, but she also admires and learns from many contemporary authors. Caron writes mainstream fiction and blogs about her life and adventures at MyLifeOnTheLane.blogspot.com. She has also published flash fiction, was an editorial assistant at Orange Coast Magazine, and was a reader at Zoetrope: All-Story, the literary magazine founded by Francis Ford Coppola. Before her writing career, Caron sold paper to small print shops for a major corporation (where she also edited the division newsletter). Later, when her three children were young, Caron ran a home based business called The Word Source -- advertising copy, brochures, resumes, editing services, menu design, custom invitations and business cards, and even a little medical transcription.
Busy at work on another novel, Caron finds herself living in Antwerp, Belgium as an expat while also maintaining a home in Connecticut, just a short drive from New York City. Surrounded by beautiful trees and lovely country roads while in the states, and cobblestone lanes and ancient architecture in foreign cities, Caron feels inspired each day for the characters whose stories beg to be told.
